Prepare for Your Expectation
Where there is no hope, there is no expectation. Hope maketh not ashamed for we know that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by His Spirit. Hope is evidence of our confidence that faith works. We talk a lot about what we want or what we expect God to do. Often times, we make assumptions or speak without getting the knowledge or confirmation of His will for us. God establishes, confirms, and performs His word. Many get caught up in the generalization of things and fail to dig into the specialization on how things apply to them and their purpose.
We go to college and declare a major of specialty but fail to adhere in declaring a major for self. We, as a people, major in gifts and talents and are celebratory of foolishness but never major in the art of self-discovery. We will cover up and not level up and will not discover us. We pray but do not seek. We knock but do not wait for the answer. The first step to preparing is learning how to enjoy the presence of the Lord. Enter into His presence with thanksgiving. No matter what you are going through, be thankful.
Learn how to know His voice. Learn how He speaks to you and recognize Him. God will communicate with us through our own personalities. He will come to you as you are and bring you into who He is. He does not make it hard. We need to learn about His grace and understand His heart for us.
Bear with me and listen to this
Jesus had a crown of thorns placed on His head so that we can wear the helmet of salvation from the armor (Ephesians 6). He was crushed so that our thoughts may be established. The truth is what saturates our thoughts to keep them pure and holds up our righteousness. (the belt of truth).
Jesus was pierced in the side and water and blood ran out. The water represents the spirit that fills us and that we should walk in daily as not to fulfill the lust of the flesh for the flesh was broken by Jesus. The blood represents the blood shed for reconciliation and also represents the new wine that is poured into us as new creatures. New wine cannot be poured into old vessels. The wine is the cup of communion with God. He said He will come in and sup with us. We wear the breastplate of righteousness to cover our hearts and the point of entry for the piercing.
Jesus was nailed in His hands so that we can carry our cross, hold up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God, hold up the shield of faith to quench every fiery dart that comes to attack, and lift our hands in the sanctuary to give God praise.
Jesus was nailed in His feet so we can walk in peace and stand boldly to take dominion over any ground that our feet shall trod and to allow God to order our steps in purpose.
Preparation is to enlarge your heart unto God so He can enlarge your territory.
Preparation is confidence in what He has revealed because there is nothing impossible to the one who believes. Preparation is speaking those things that are not as if they are already. We speak those things that He has revealed and declare them. As He is, so are we in the earth. Preparation is making the necessary changes and making room to receive. We have to walk in the word and according to the word. We do not look to the left nor right but stay focused on what He has promised and spoken. We must know the vision and keep it fresh in our heart. Habakkuk 2 speaks of writing the vision and making it plain upon the table of thine heart that he that read it may run. We have to make haste for the vision. The vision will surely speak and not lie though it tarry wait for it for it shall surely come.
It is not easy to run a race. You have to practice before the official race. Track runners have to train and time themselves to get what they need before attempting to run for the trophy. We have to go around the mountain before we can conquer the mountain. We have to deal with things numerous times before we master them.
Preparation is being able to watch the climate of your circumstances and recognize your spring, summer, fall, and winter. We must know when we are in drought or in harvest. We must be aware when the seasons change. We have to know when we are redeeming the time and receiving the end of our faith.
Psalm 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Many focus on delight yourself in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart but do not understand that those desires are the desires He places on our hearts and not those things that we ask amiss. It is not His will that we consume things upon lust.
Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way.
We want God to delight in our path so that He goes before us and the heavenly host is encamped behind and surrounding us. There is purpose in every step that is ordered by God.
God prepares us as we walk. We walk by faith. We live by faith.
