Stand Still and See
Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today.
What does it mean to stand? When you stand, it should be predicated on the voice of God that you heard in your day of visitation. We must remain mindful of what God has promised. It is not about the generic promises but what has God specifically promised directly to you. Sometimes things seem to be drawn out and overdue, but God perfects those things which concerns us. When the promises show up or begin to manifest, there is always contention. The fight or chaos is evidence of truth being manifested. Distractions seem to show up more predominantly when the word of God is being performed. We have to learn to recognize the true wisdom of God and learn to follow His movement in the spirit realm.
Standing is the process to obtain patience for endurance. Let patience have its perfect work so we will not want for anything. Many often rebel against waiting. They want to plunge full speed ahead without the knowledge or guidance of God. Many people focus too much on their lack of comfortability. They say things like it has been long enough or I’m not waiting that long. The truth is all of our times are in the hands of God, and He knows what has to be done. It may not feel good but that also testifies of the needed work in us and not only for us.
Standing is the process of the unknown development on the inside. It is so easy to drawback because human nature does not want to change (transform). Faith is stretched because faith has to increase with new levels and new expectations. We have to analyze our personal thoughts and intentions. We have to work through memorized behaviors. This includes always making assumptions that a person will do or say the same thing all the time. We easily expect a particular reaction or thing all the time, and it is mostly negative. It is comfortable to feel like we can predict because it is actually a defense mechanism. We actually hinder our own possibilities with predetermined mindsets and conformity.
Sometimes our expectations are not the true expectations of God. We tend to couple the expectation with false realities, assumptions, traditions, and religious inspiration rather than spiritual truth.
Psalm 16:8-9 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
God is the judge and we have to be found competent to stand trial (s). Our promises will not come without contention. This is why the Prince of Persia hindered Daniel for 21 days. This spirit comes to make war against progress and success. The bible tells us that we must contend for the faith. We cannot live in faith and not have to fight. Blind spots are one of the hardest things that we may encounter when we are standing. We want answers, but they are not always readily available upon our command, but when God is ready to reveal.
One of the hardest things for us is to wait. Sometimes God does not reveal the purpose of a thing or give us understanding until it (test) has been completed to God’s satisfaction. Contrary or contradictory results force us into a place to make a choice. We have to decide who we want to believe. Do we trust what man may be saying or God? Do I need to surrender, let go and let God? The best choice is to choose Him no matter what.
We have to begin to speak what God has said and also examine our own beliefs and weigh our hearts. Trouble tests our faith level and authority level in the spirit. We have trials and tribulations to test our hearts to see what really resides in them. We know that out of the heart flows the issues of life. Some people have faith but not tenacious faith. Some people settle while others roar. The kingdom of God suffereth violently but the violent take it by force. The force is the authority and tenacious nature to never give in. We bind and loose and tread upon serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy because he cannot harm us.
Some walk in the state of passivity while others walk in hasty faith. People tend to want something quickly, but they are not ready for the thing or person they desire even when God has ordained it. The land of each heart and those connected must be conditioned and the environment has to be prepared for what God has promised.
God told the Israelites to go in and possess the land after He had made the land and them ready. They could not manage it before being prepared. This was a new experience. When we stand, we cannot give into fear or pressure. There are people who will pressure you to do what they want and do all to manipulate you into their game or control. Trust God when you stand so that you will not be swallowed by fear or people’s opinions and crafty cons. Standing proves your strength and not weakness because our true strength is in Him.
Standing is a press. The devil will not allow anyone to walk freely into anything that he knows God has prepared. God anoints us to win and causes the enemy to be weakened. Satan cannot stand against the light of God. He cannot stand nor prosper against the anointing of God. Standing is to not allow oneself to become consumed or hammered with negative thoughts and do not allow anyone to bombard you with their unclean wisdom. Rebuke all that is not like God and search for God’s righteousness. Judge according to spirit and not according to the carnal or flesh. The natural interpretation will fail because it is not truth.
Stand = confidence, no wavering, rejoicing in Him, studying and speaking the Word of God (what He has said and what is written), remember the promises and possess in the spirit so you can possess in the natural, speak it into existence, and never believe the lie of the devil and give no place to him.
Stand is love, power, and a sound mind. God gave us these things and not fear. Take the rod of faith coupled with confidence, hope, and word and stretch it forth like Moses did as an act of faith for the parting of the Red Sea. When you take the rod* and stretch forth thy hand, your impossibilities will become possible. We can speak peace to the storm and command the sea to cease. Peace be still.
